On June 8, 9 and 10 nearly 100 participants will travel round trip from Crystal Lake, IL to Lake Geneva, WI as part of the American Lung Association in Greater Chicago's
Fight For Air Ride – Lake Tour Bike Trek Cyclists ride 50 miles per day, 150 miles total to support the Association's fight for healthy lungs and healthy air. This year marks the 27th anniversary of the event.
"Our participants range from avid cyclists to beginning riders," explains Meghan Miller, Executive Director of the American Lung Association in Greater Chicago. "They ride as a great physical challenge or in honor or memory of a loved one. We even have participants who have been to all 27 events!"
Participants will travel a different scenic route each day and Friday and Saturday's routes finish at
The Abbey Resort and Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. They'll enjoy a luxurious weekend getaway at The Abbey with indoor and outdoor pools, beach access, golf, a beautiful marina, and spa packages.
Cyclists range in age from 8-75 years old and may participate as individuals or as part of a team. Each participant fundraises over $600 to be eligible to participate and the event raised over $100,000 last year for the American Lung Association.
